🧬 Anthony Demands Final DNA and Shayla’s Second Pregnancy — And Uncovers Another Lie 😱
The rain had been falling all day, tapping against Anthony’s office window like a relentless reminder that the truth couldn’t be avoided forever. He sat at his desk, phone in hand, staring at the contact name “Shayla”.
For weeks, he’d been replaying the same thought over and over — What if Kai isn’t mine? The whispers, the suspicious glances from friends, the way Shayla dodged certain questions… it had all built to this moment. He couldn’t take the uncertainty anymore.
When she finally answered, her voice was tense. “Anthony, what’s wrong?”
“I’m done guessing,” he said, his tone sharp but trembling. “I’m ordering one last DNA test for Kai. This is final. No more delays, no more excuses.”
There was a pause — too long of a pause. “Anthony… I don’t think that’s—”
“No, Shayla,” he cut her off, “I need to know the truth. If you care about me at all, you’ll agree to this.”
The Bombshell 💣
Two days later, Anthony was standing in Shayla’s living room when she dropped another shock on him.
“I’m pregnant,” she blurted, arms wrapped protectively around her stomach.
The air was sucked out of the room. Anthony’s eyes widened. “You’re… pregnant. Again?”
She nodded, tears pooling. “Yes. And this time… it’s definitely yours.”
He let out a bitter laugh. “You really expect me to believe that when I don’t even know if the first child is mine?”
The Waiting Game ⏳
The next week was torture. The DNA test had been done, and Anthony carried the sealed envelope with him everywhere but couldn’t bring himself to open it. His mind was a storm — part of him wanted the truth no matter the cost, part of him dreaded the answer.
Shayla kept calling, her voice wavering every time. “Anthony, please… you have to trust me.”
But trust was gone. Burned away by months of suspicion and half-truths.
The Lie Uncovered 😨
One late night, Anthony finally ripped the envelope open under the flickering light of his kitchen. His hands shook as he scanned the lines:
Probability of paternity: 0.00%
The paper slipped from his fingers, fluttering to the floor. His chest tightened until it hurt to breathe.
It wasn’t just that Kai wasn’t his. It was the sudden rush of every moment he’d spent loving that boy — realizing he’d been living a lie.
He stormed to Shayla’s apartment, pounding on the door. She opened it, startled.
“You lied to me!” he roared, his voice breaking. “All this time, Shayla… you let me believe he was mine.”
Her eyes filled with tears. “Anthony, I didn’t want to lose you. I thought… if I kept it quiet, we could still be a family.”
Anthony’s voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. “And now you’re telling me you’re pregnant again? Why should I believe you now?”
Shayla’s shoulders shook, her sobs echoing in the hallway. “Because this time… I’m telling the truth. I swear it.”
But Anthony just stared at her, his heart hardening. He didn’t know if he could survive believing her a second time — or if this was just the next chapter of an even bigger lie
